By PokerMan Dan

Being able to play in the WSOP may be something that you can't imagine at this point in your poker career, but it doesn't always have to be so. A great place for improving your game may lie with the study of the other players at the table. Being the best player at the table is what you should be striving for and to do that you must get inside of your opponents head and know what they are going to do before they do.

Keeping an ever watchful eye on all players at a poker table is something that is really a necessity. There is to much information that is freely given out by novice players for a great poker player not to try to pickup on. At first you may find it difficult to glean any information out of them but given time it will son become instinct and will greatly improve your game.

One tool that is never given enough credit in poker is that when it is cheap enough you should sometimes call down your opponent even if you believe that you are holding the losing hand. This information can be of great use to you if you plan on sitting at the same table with the same players for a few hours or more.

Poker playing should be considered a battle. You aren't playing poker just to play a game. You are playing poker to make money. You want to be under the radar and not bring any unwanted attention to your game.

When at a poker table be looking for players who do nothing more then check and call. When going up against these types of players you want to attack them at every chance. Do not allow then to stay in a hand cheaply and draw to the winning hand. Push them out before they can make that terrible draw, also known as sucking out. Even with a marginal hand be attacking this type of player.

By incorporating these tips into your game it should help you to become a more successful poker player. Be patient, study your opponents, and be ready to attack if the situation calls for it. To get to the WSOP one needs to study and become a true student of the game. With some hard work I know that you can get there.
